Un ouvrage riche et complexe mais particulièrement didactique et pédagogique (et non dénué d'humour de plus)
Il ne s'adresse pas aux pianistes débutants, mais plutôt aux bons, voire très bons pianistes qui en veulent davantage et sont prêts à faire les efforts de compréhension et de pratique pour enrichir leur savoir-faire pianistique.
La présentation est très aérée, la mise en page facilite le travail, quant au fond de l'ouvrage, on découvre ou redécouvre les mille et une subtilités qui font dresser l'oreille en entendant le petit quelque chose en plus qui discerne une interprétation plate d'une interprétation jazzy, voire audacieuse.
L'ouvrage s'appuie en permanence sur des "bouts" de morceaux de référence, il propose des choix de morceaux, pour appliquer les "leçons".
